Homepage – Race the Lake Volunteers

We love hosting events for the community but it’s no small task! We rely on great people like you to make it happen. No matter how big or small your volunteer spot may seem, to us your help is immeasurable!

The Clark Sports Center is seeking volunteers for our annual Race the Lake Marathon, Half-Marathon, 10k & 5k on Saturday, May 31. The race will circle clockwise around Otsego Lake. Runners will travel through Cooperstown, Springfield, Middlefield and the Town of Otsego. Because this event covers a large portion of our surrounding area, we need your help!

We are looking for help with:

Water Stations
Water Station Support Teams offer water, basic directions, and reminds runners about self-care (sunscreen, eating and hydration). Advise runners they should run with traffic during this event. Basic First Aid, Activate 911 if the the outcome is uncertain, or shelter in place in severe weather.

Road Safety: Cyclist Roving Marshals
Cyclist Roving Marshals work as a team sweeping up and down sections of Road designated by the Emergency Director Jim DiLiberto. The primary role is to keep an eye out for anything unusual, report and injuries or mishaps and most of all cheer on the runners. Make it fun and get some miles for your self.

*Youth volunteers under the age of 16 must have parent/guardian supervision*

Remember to bring any items you might need (like, water, bike, helmet or music) for your position as specified in the description. If for any reason, you need to cancel or change a volunteer spot, you can do so by signing back in.
